This is a great idea I read about from fitness4her.com just recently. I have heard this before but never did it. for some reason it just stuck with me this time. This is a great way to chart your progress and see exactly what your doing that works and what doesn’t work.
It’s easy to identify the need but not always so easy to stay focused on the goal. Focus gets clouded when you become distracted. You must keep your target in sight at all times if you really want to stay focused on reaching your goal. There are so many ways to become sidetracked or even give up if your goal is not met in a short time. The problem with that is that most goals worthy of achievement must be worked on day after day for a long period of time, or in the case of fitness, you must be willing to work on it for a lifetime.
One way to stay focused is to keep a fitness journal of everything you eat and drink and all of the activities and exercise that you do. Keep track of your weight loss or weight gain and use the journal to determine what works for you. Staying focused on what you eat and how much you exercise takes a commitment to your fitness goal.
Once you start doing this it becomes quite easy. Just another part of your daily routine. I write my journal after breakfast in the morning and I carry around a 3×5 index card during the day to jot down anything that I think may slip my mind and then add it at night after dinner when I writing again. It’s an easy habit that will pay off big for you if you are consistent with it.
