As lives become busier the demand for exercise equipment has gone up enormously. More people want exercise equipment in order to plan a work out around their own free time rather than having time constraints of a gym. With the wide variety of equipment to choose from it is becoming increasingly difficult to choose the best option. Training equipment falls into two broad categories: cardio machines and strength training machines.
Cardio exercises, as the name suggests, generally boost the heart rate and get your metabolism rolling in order for your body to start burning calories. Machines like treadmills are perhaps the most commonly used types for cardio. They consist of a movable platform for your feet and a screen to monitor your heart rate, the number of miles you have “walked” on it and the calories you have burnt. Another machine very similar to treadmills is the elliptical trainer or stepper, as it is sometimes called. This has two different platforms for the feet and is designed in a way that your feet never leave the platforms which move in an elliptical pattern. The elliptical motion prevents excessive wear and tear of joints.
Rowing machines help you imitate movements like ones you would make if you were actually rowing a boat. You sit and pull yourself toward a bar while pushing away from it with your feet. Ab-rollers are affordable machines best used for building ab-muscles. You place your head on the headset and grab the armrest and start exercising. Weight machines are another great option for strength training. They have various weights attached to a bar with the help of a pulley and let you exercise a number of muscles.
With the wide variety of machines to be chosen from, pick one that is best for your physical needs.
